The Radiation Alert® line of radiation area monitors protects your personnel and your facility. Select the right model to detect across a wide range of radiation levels. The base controller unit includes a Touch Screen LCD, latching, siren light and strobe. What does a Radiation Alert® radiation area monitor detect?
Radiation Alert® area monitors use an internal or external Geiger-Müller (GM) tube or Sodium Iodide (NaI) scintillation probe, depending on model, to give facilities continuous coverage for fixed, wall-mounted, or portal radiation monitoring.
Free software expands the capabilities of your Radiation Area Monitor. With USB and Ethernet, live reporting, mapping, and alarm conditions is monitored by remote with the Area Monitor Server Software. Track exposure, program custom alarms and conditions, and set email and/or text alerts. Secondary remote alarm and strobe option can be mounted up to 100 feet from the base controller unit. What is the difference between a GM probe and a Sodium Iodide probe on an area monitor?
A Geiger-Müller (GM) probe provides reliable general-purpose radiation detection and count-rate monitoring. A Sodium Iodide (NaI) scintillation probe offers greater sensitivity for lower-level gamma detection. Most Radiation Alert® area monitor models support internal or external probes in either configuration.
Can a radiation area monitor be mounted for portal or high-traffic monitoring?
Yes. The Radiation Alert® area monitor line offers a rugged wall-mount enclosure option built for portal monitoring and high-traffic areas, protecting the sensor while keeping it in continuous operation.
How are alarms and alerts managed on a radiation area monitor?
Each base controller unit includes a backlit Touch Screen LCD with latching siren light and strobe alarms. Free Area Monitor Server Software adds USB and Ethernet connectivity for remote live reporting, mapping, custom alarm conditions, and email or text alerts.
Can a remote alarm be added to a radiation area monitor?
Yes. A secondary remote alarm and strobe option can be mounted up to 100 feet from the base controller unit, extending alert coverage across a larger facility footprint.
